You got the whole world in your hands!

Bonjour!
That's French for hello.
Get on to the Bratmobile and find out more about the rest of the world. Find out how you're different from a kid in another country, and how you're also quite the same. Learn about different foods around the world, the unusual customs people have, how they celebrate their special holidays, how many countries have harvest festivals, how some countries have winter when you're in the middle of summer, how some people have never, ever heard of cricket, find out about a game you've never, ever heard of, and then discover how the world is an adventure you don't want to miss!

F R A N C E month starts July!
Meet Annette. She's 9 and she lives in Lille. That's a town in France. Annette's like any other 9 year old anywhere else in the world. She has breakfast just like you, except she probably has croissants (a crescent-shaped pastry) and her parents let her drink coffee! From a bowl, not a cup! She goes to school - she says `l'ecole', and has much the same kind of subjects you have. Except everything is in French. When Annette studies geography at school, she learns about India and sometimes she shakes her head and thinks to herself - wow! India's pretty different from what I'm used to! (But she says that to herself in French, of course.)

What would you expect to find in France? Paris! A beautiful city full of bridges and the most amazing buildings. Parisian streets are famous around the world with their party-like atmosphere, outdoor café's and restaurants. One of the 7 wonders of the world is in Paris. The Eiffel Tower. For a long time it used to be one of the tallest structures in the world. (You could do some quick research and find out which is the tallest structure in the world now).
France has given the world a lot of delicious things to eat. Like cheese. There are many different kinds, like camembert and brie. People love French pancakes which are called crepes and they also love French wine.
Like every country around the world, France has its festivals. There's the Gypsy Festival which is very colourful and noisy, full of singing and dancing. Bastille Day is celebrated with firecrackers. And there's the Cannes Film Festival. This is where the best films of the world are screened.

Learn about different foods around the world, the unusual customs people have, how they celebrate their special holidays, how many countries have spring festivals just like holi, how some countries have winter when you're in the middle of summer, how some people have never, ever heard of cricket, find out about a game you've never, ever heard of, and then discover how the world is an adventure you don't want to miss!
