Hi! I'm Hoo the hippo and I'm here to tell you about Hippocampus. That's quite a tongue twister - Hoo-Hippo-here-Hippocampus! I'm the official mascot of Hippocampus. A mascot is a person or an animal that a team or a company or a school uses as its special symbol - kind of like a short form. So when you see me you know I stand for Hippocampus. The great thing about Hippocampus is that you can learn a lot of cool stuff, like the thing I just told you about the mascot. Not only can you learn a lot of cool things - you can do a lot of cool things. Like rock climbing. Or like Karate. Or starting your very own newspaper - which you can be the boss of. If you've always wanted to learn how to make hot chocolate fudge - you can do that too! Maybe, you want to act in a play or make your very own movie - you can do that too. Hippocampus is a place that has been built especially for kids who want to have a great time doing different things. It's in Koramangala and you can come over whenever you like and have a look around. My favourite parts are the gardens, the waterfalls and the trees. And since I'm a bookworm (you wouldn't think that of a hippo), I love the library. The library is not one of those serious, gloomy places where people are always shushing you - it's bright and cheerful and it's got tons of space - that's very important for a guy like me (I'm a little on the big side). Then there are all these clubs that you can join. Right now there are 6 clubs, Junior Hippo and Baby Hippo programmes to choose from. Like the Art Club, the Adventure Club, the Cooking Club ( I'm a great fan of the cooking club). There's 'Junior Hippo' and 'Baby Hippo' for the young 'uns. A mentor (a nice grown-up who knows a lot of cool stuff), is in charge of each club and he's there to make sure you have a great time. The other stuff you can do at Hippocampus - you can watch movies. Everything from Monster Inc to Gandhi ! You can listen to music. You can take part in quizzes. Then there's always something new happening - like puppet shows and magic shows. I could go on and on but I think it would be better if you came over with your parents and checked Hippocampus out for yourself. And remember- whatever you want to do, you can!
